Ballet Memphis

Ballet Memphis is a full-time professional dance company. Ballet Memphis teaching artists share their dance experiences with classroom teachers and their students through lectures and demonstrations that address dance technique, the choreographic process, performance content and connections to the classroom curriculum in various schools. It has a dance school known as the Ballet Memphis School. In addition to student matinee performances, Ballet Memphis also brings live performances to schools. Ballet Memphis productions include classical favorites, such as the Nutcracker, as well as new works, including a hip-hop poetry piece, a mix of jazz, ballet and social dance set to the music of Duke Ellington, with a live jazz orchestra, and the classic tale Beauty and the Beast. Ballet Memphis is located in Cordova, Tenn. .
